Terms of Service
Establishing a high-integrity framework for AI-powered mathematics in the Canadian classroom.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using MathMastery, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the MathMastery Initiative.
Minors & Consent: Students under the age of majority must have their account authorized by a parent, guardian, or verified teacher via an invite code. By issuing an invite code, the adult assumes responsibility for the minor's activity.
2. Eligibility & Access
- MathMastery is exclusively for use by students, teachers, and parents within the Canadian Kβ8 system.
- Teacher Accounts: Reserved for verified educators at accredited schools. By registering, you confirm your authority to manage student data.
- Invite Protocol: Student accounts can only be initiated via authorized invite codes to ensure chain-of-custody for data consent.
3. Acceptable Conduct
To maintain the integrity of the Sovereign learning environment, you must not:
No Exploits
Attempting to scrape, reverse-engineer, or brute-force AI endpoints.
Integrity First
Using the platform to bypass school-mandated assessments.
Personal Use
Reselling or redistribute AI-generated content or problems.
Human Only
Using bots or automated scripts to interact with Socratic sessions.
4. AI Content Sovereignty
MathMastery uses Google Gemini via Vertex AI, pinned to the MontrΓ©al (northamerica-northeast1) region, to generate tutoring and curriculum material. Inference stays inside Canadian Google Cloud regions by policy β there is no US-hosted fallback.
Accuracy Disclosure:
While our "Sovereign Dispatcher" repairs and validates AI outputs, generative models may occasionally produce errors. MathMastery is a supplementary instructional tool and should be used under educator supervision.
Teachers and administrators are encouraged to review AI-generated problems when utilizing the platform for formal grade-book assessments.
5. Intellectual Property
The platform's proprietary code, design, and non-AI content are the exclusive property of MathMastery and protected by Canadian copyright.
Student Ownership: You retain ownership of your progress data and learning history. You may request a portability export or permanent deletion at any time.
6. School Board Licensing
Access for school divisions is provided through annual licensing agreements. These agreements take precedence over these general terms in the event of a conflict.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, MathMastery is provided "as is." We are not liable for errors in AI content, service interruptions, or indirect damages arising from platform usage.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the federal laws of Canada and the provincial laws of the user's documented residence (primarily Saskatchewan for the current pilot phase).
